Seismic safety and heavy-panel retention
On the superyachts that come through our Palma de Mallorca workshop, ceiling panels represent a real risk if they lack an adequate retention system. After more than 20 years in the sector, we have seen what happens when a heavy panel breaks free during navigation or a sudden manoeuvre. The PanelSafe system eliminates that risk with stainless steel cables that retain the panel even if the primary clips fail.
SeisMount goes a step further: it is certified for seismic zones and supports up to 225 kg per bracket. We specify it on public buildings, hospitals, data centres and any space where a falling panel could cause serious injury. We combine PanelSafe with clips from the Standard, Low Profile or Stratlock ranges to deliver a complete fixing + safety system.

Installing PanelSafe systems requires accurate panel-weight calculation and correct distribution of retention cables. Our technical team performs that calculation, selects the right model (PS-150, PS-S150E or PS-SR225SS) and can carry out the installation or supervise the client's team. We provide technical documentation for project certification.
PanelSafe / SeisMount FAQ
Does PanelSafe replace standard Fastmount clips?
No — it is a safety complement. The clips (Standard, LP, Stratlock...) still hold the panel in position. PanelSafe adds a stainless steel cable that prevents the panel from falling in the event of clip failure or extreme impact. Think of it as a seatbelt for panels.
How many PanelSafe cables do I need per ceiling panel?
A minimum of 2 per panel, but it depends on weight. For panels up to 30 kg, 2 PS-150 cables are sufficient. For heavier panels (stone, glass) we use PS-SR225SS and calculate according to the applicable seismic standard. We provide the specific calculation for your project.
Who certifies that the installation is correct?
Riviera Trade provides the system's technical documentation and installation instructions per Fastmount specifications. Final project certification is typically the responsibility of the project architect or engineer, but we supply all the information they need.
